Oozie is a framework flow scheduler system to manage Apache Hadoop jobs where jobs are Directed Acyclic Graphs (DAGs) of actions. Users use an XML le which de nes the work ow and allows multiple jobs to be submitted simultaneously. Oozie manages branching and data dependencies from one job to another and handles conditions such as failed jobs. It can wait for several upstream jobs to complete before the next job commences. It allows running Pig jobs, Hive jobs, streaming jobs and Sqoop jobs. It uses an embedded Tomcat server to submit the jobs to the Hadoop cluster.
